The first generation Volkswagen Passat was introduced in 1973. For Volkswagen, it meant the entry in the higher classes. Over time, VW Passat crystallized in the class leader and path-shaper. The current, seventh generation, was premiered in Geneva in 2004. Design of the current-generation fits into the current strategy of VW styling, which was introduced by the fifth generation of the popular Golf.

The front part of the car is sufficiently dynamic, featuring interestingly shaped headlights. By looking at the grille, you might distantly recall the shape design of Audi cars – it is also prolonged to the bottom edge of the front bumper. The side profile has a rugged feel. The back of the car is massive and dynamically shaped, trunk lid forms a distinct edge tear. The rear lights are similarly shaped as the front. They use fashion brilliant effect, ultimately reviving the massive rear of the car. Overall, the design recalls the old Passat and the Phaeton luxury model. Seventh-generation Volkswagen Passat is again on top of its class. It offers an attractive exterior design, plus an elegant and very well prepared interior.
